to start preliminary exam preparation you should be begin with tamilnadu state board (samachir kalvi) tamil,science,maths,social science books from 6th standard to 10th standard.some other books 11th and 12th standard economics,political science,geography,history, and biology subjects.
read daily newspaper in tamil regularly(if you can read English newspaper also)
read any one the competition exam magazine(English or Tamil)
cover current affairs at least last one year
concentrate more in tamilnadu related general knowledge
main exam(descriptive exam)
you will clear the preliminary exam you should be pass to the next stage(main exam). its fully descriptive type exam.you should write with your hand.
